If you love Phil Hellmuth whining after bad beats, you’ll probably love my review. But, seriously, Be warned what I am going to write might annoy you, might bore you to death or perhaps a HUGE amount of empathy will be showered upon me while you say ‘I know, brother, I know, it happened to me 4,561 times in my Poker career. I soooo understand the pain and frustration’.
I sat down with full hopes of making an impressive impression for the Fundoo Folks but Boy, I can see them shaking thier heads looking at my cash game graph wondering if I am just in my running –bad phase or just a luckbox like Chase Berger (from the Micros) to make consistent profits in the 1st 5-6 days.
My downfall began when my Aces were cracked. My oppenent fren was like a chewing Gum stuck to my shoes, refusing to part with his top pair (Qs) even after I barreled every street. Maybe the Poker Gods saw his determination and they were so impressed that they provided his miracle second pair, Mr. 8, the lonely snowman to give him some hope & Joy in his poker life as a complete Fish-Donkey-Jamie Gold combined. After that, I was pretty upset It was definitely a decent size pot and I defeinitely titled abit. I decided to quit after a short while cause the hand was still stuck in my mind.
In the 2nd sesssion of the day, After reading Fundoo Member Mr. Himanshu’s blog about Hitting & running with around 50 euros in a heads-up game. I felt that was pretty much my solution to break even. I used 50% of Mr. Himanshu’s startegy, I did Not Hit But I Ran Away! The opponent was unbelivably fortunate, he/she took a chunk of chips off me by having exactly 1 card higher than my top pair in 2 showdowns (I think the term is ‘getting Pipped’, I am not sure though). Then making trips on the river with me having bottom 2 pairs, He checked, hoping i would barrel on the river, LOL! Trap fail! (wow! I still have my sense of humour), down to almost 25 euros, I quit the heads-up table, Cursed the player, thank the fundoo member blogger for such a brilliant idea, and decided to play in my usal ring game again! I guessed I escaped in time......ho-boy, if i only knew what was waiting for me on those 10-20 cents tables.
It’s too sad to write it, so let me summarize it in the best way possible:
Scene 1: Time: 20:32:31 IST, Game # 2429574488
Me: ‘ Come on Clubs on the river.....YES!!! haha, Nice! King High Flush’ Opponent moves all-in
Me:’Poor Guy, kept check calling me with trip 3s, lol! The jokes on you now buddy.’ (Click!)
Opponent turn over 3-3 for QUADS!
I swore the King in my hand spat in disgust!
Scene 2: Time: Game # 2429577616, 20:35:23 IST
Me: Pocket jacks, Hmm...Good! Re-raise.
Flops: All chhota cards, and best part-rainbow.
Looked around, Ah! The player with the short stack is the one who plays the most loose and calls with anything. (Click-‘....Do You want to Raise all your chips, are you sure?....- of course i am sure, D-uh )
Snap call! Loose player smiles at me showing me Pocket Queens. One of the Queens threw a kiss at me before scooping the whole pot.
Scene 3: Time: Game # 2429585654 20:37:58 IST
Me: Hmmm...Ace-Nine of Diamonds. Ok so-so. Calls!
Flops: 8d-10d-Js. WOWIE Nice! Open-ender + Nut Flush Draw.
Bet-raise-re-raise-4 Bet-ALL IN!
Opponent turns over: SNOWMEN () for a SET, Still I can Make it, My outs are almost the same.
Turn ‘9’, River’9’.
I can easily say that I have mastered the art of losing around 50 Euros in 6 minutes.
Coming to a serious note, that was the most tiring and Most dissapointing session I ever had. At one point I felt that I could not win, there were many other hands that I had where I was just crushed. It was mentally exhauuting, I really wish I never have such session in my life. It was just too bitter! Seriously hoping to have a good review next time!
