WSOP Bracelet Returned to its Rightful Owner
From one famous Canadian we gradually move to another, this time drawing our attention to 2010 world champion - Jonathan Duhamel. As you might remember, in December he was attacked by the criminals and robbed of his WSOP bracelet, a Rolex watch as well as over $100,000.
We must pay tribute to Canadian police that has worked fast and efficiently. First policemen found nearly half of the stolen money and then arrested Duhamel’s ex-girlfriend - the 20-year-old Rojas-Traverse and her accomplices as John Stephan Clark Lemay, 21, and Anthony Bourque, 26. However, fate of the main relics – the golden bracelet remained unknown for a long time.
And now, after almost two months, Jonathan got his bracelet back. Unfortunately, for him, it has not returned in the lavish condition it was in when he won it. Apparently it was found by a street sweeper in Montreal, who found it lying in the trash. Someone attempted to scratch off the champion's name from the bracelet, which has an estimated value of $40,000. For some time, the bracelet will be kept by the police, as it is still a piece of evidence.
Duhamel, who said from the get-go he was more concerned about the sentimental value, says he is grateful regardless of the condition and looks forward to recovering the rest of it.
