Erick Lindgren: "In Debt to the Armpit"

12/03/2012

Recently, the poker community was involved in another scandal, after the members of 2 +2 forum publicly announced that Eric "E-Dog" Lindgren owed them a total of more than $ 150,000. It turned out that this sum US poker pro haslost in the last season of fantasy league that ended in December. Moreover, a former FTP pro is not hurrying to return money back, continuing to feed his numerous creditors with empty promises.

Among deceived investors are such 2 +2 forum users, as “$kill Game” (the author of thread, whom Lindgren owes $ 11,000), “kaj_kyle” ($50,000), “ahh_snap” ($66,000), “Interpleader” ($2,800), as well as several others, each owed from $ 5,000 to $ 20,000.

Many players have been losing their patience already, and “Interpleader” even posted his correspondence to Eric on the Internet, in which the latter promises to return all the money from day to day, but then disappears. Quite an unpleasant situation, given that Lindgren, who is currently taking 21-th position in the 'All Time Money List' with $ 8.4 million, is a pretty respectable player in poker circles. However, this news did not surprise those who know him closely. Many professionals know Eric as a gambler willing to risk all his money and never paying debts on time. Well, we can only wish his creditors stay calm and patient.

Another notable pro, Phil Galfond, also commented on this situation in his blog, but, unlike the rest, he’s gone one step further and offered some sage advice to everyone in the game. In very detail Galfond explained poker ethics, types of debts and gave an insight into his own dealings when loaning money.
