India Poker Series Announces A Strategic Tie Up With India Poker Pros
KOLKATA : India Poker Series, a poker tournament series which just completed one year of its operations after having held 5 chapters, on Tuesday 13th April 2011, announced its strategic tie up with India Poker Pros.
India Poker Series is one of the premier poker tournaments to be organized in India and they have successfully brought the poker community in India together by their efforts. India Poker Series is run by Kolkata based Ways2Events and its CEO is Bharat Agarwalla India Poker Pros is a to be launched poker tournament and is owned by Vikram Verma.
Vikram Verma is a poker enthusiast from Mumbai and has been playing poker for the past 4 years. He plays poker with his extended group of friends almost everyday. He is often guiding them with the right game by teaching them to learn how to drop weak hands and encash on the good hands, says Bharat Agarwalla, CEO India Poker Series. He adds that it is such people who have poker running inside in their hearts and they have the passion like I have, this is the reason why our association with Vikram would benefit us mutually and also the poker tournament industry.
India Poker Series (popularly called IPS) CEO Bharat Agarwalla was most happy to announce this tie up and told our correspondent "I am glad to tie up with India Poker Pros which is run by my friend Vikram Verma as he has the same kind of passion for poker as we have for the sport. I feel that this tie up will result in a major boost for the industry and poker may well go on to become the most popular indoor game in India like cricket is as an outdoor sport in India". When asked whether there would be any change in the 2011 schedule after this tie up, Bharat Agarwalla was quick to reply that the current calendar would remain intact and if there were any changes, they would announce them well in advance. He added, that changes if any, would be only be positive in nature. Neither Bharat Agarwalla nor Vikram Verma were ready to reveal their future plans and said they would announce their plans during IPS 6 which would be held from 6th to 8th of May 2011. With this tie up, the poker scene in India has seen an increase in the ante. It would be worth the wait to see what plans hold in store for poker player and more for poker tourneys in the country.
