Will Beauty Save Poker?
For years poker has been considered as a purely male game. Each year crowds of young men in hoodies and grown gray seniors are filling the halls of tournaments in different parts of the world to define the best player in the world. But sometimes their plan fails and unexpectedly a pretty, leggy brunette or blonde female rises at the top of the pedestal.

This happened in Paris last year, when the Russian Natalia Nikitina had won the prestigious WPT Diamond Championship, and we already not mention endless successes of Liv Boeree or Vanessa Selbst... In other words, if a beautiful lady is sitting at the table just in front of you, it is quite possible that she has already started brewing a plan of taking away your last chips. So, be careful, guys! Today especially for you we decided to compile a short list of the most dangerous and hottest female poker players. Please welcome!
1. Vanessa Selbst
Age: 27
Relationship status: Single
Vanessa would hardly ever win a beauty contest, but this does not prevent her from winning major tournaments all over the globe, giving men the gate. Thus, Vanessa already has a WSOP bracelet, victories in such majors as NAPT, Partouche Poker Tour and LA Poker Classic, and more than $ 5 million in prize money during her career. Sorry, but we could not find any Vanessa’s pictures in a bathing suit.
2. Liv Boeree
Age: 27 years
Relationship status: Dates Kevin McPhee
Another poker shark, hiding in the body of a pretty lady. The PokerStars Pro from the United Kingdom got the looks, the personality and the brains. After studying astrophysics and graduating with honors, she became interested in poker and modeling and reached the top of both fields. She is best known for winning the prestigious 2010 European Poker Tour in San Remo for a cool €1.25 million cash prize. Liv adores poker because it gives her opportunity to play against men. No, she is not a feminist, but prefers to shine not only with her beauty. "All men think that it is very simple to play against girls, but I have repeatedly proved the opposite. And not only me alone" – notes Liv.
3. Erica Schoenberg
Age: 33 years
Relationship status: Married
Erica is an American professional blackjack and poker player, married to another Pro Erick Lindgren. Unlike her husband, Erica’s total live poker tournament winnings exceed $750,000, but it does not mean that she should be underestimated at the poker table. While many of her competitors spend their time staring at Erica, she makes them pay for their distraction by taking their chips. In addition to spectacular appearance Eric has a natural talent for arithmetic and logic. Before starting poker career she has worked as a pro beach-volleyball tournament trainer, personal trainer and even a kickboxing instructor. So, guys, be careful.
4. Shannon Elizabeth
Age: 38 years
Relationship status: Divorced
What would you do if Nadia from "American Pie" sat in front of you at the poker table (we know that Jim would have done). Quite a few people know that Shannon is a good poker player other than her acting career. Her winnings in live tournaments exceed $ 224,231, with the biggest cash for the third place in the NBC National Heads-up Championship in 2007 - $ 125,000. Elizabeth also regularly participates in major tournaments in the U.S., including the WSOP. We suspect that she win mainly due to the fact that her neighbors are constantly forgetting to watch their cards and can’t concentrate when playing with her.
5. Natalia Nikitina
Age: 24 years
Relationship status: Dating Maxim Kolosov
We could not forget including in this list the Russian player Natalia Nikitina, the first female winner of the WPT. For the victory in WPT National Series Paris Euro Finals of Poker Diamond Championship main event, she got € 243,830, worldwide fame and a contract with the promoter organization Poker Royalty, representing the interests of the most famous poker stars.
6. Liz Lieu
Age: 38
Relationship status: Unmarried
Liz Lieu, also known as “The Poker Diva”, was born in Vietnam in 1974, and first fell in love with the cards when she played Chinese poker at the tender age of 13. Liz started out her career as a professional poker player in Las Vegas but her real big break was after her win at the $1500 No-Limit Hold ‘Em Event at the 2005 World Series of Poker which put her in fifth place with over $168,000 in prize money. Despite the fact that Lew is mostly a cash player, there is more than $650,000 on her account from winning tournaments.
7. Chantel Mcnulty
Age: 28
Relationship status: Unmarried
Chantel started her career very early. As a teenager she participated in underground card games in Dallas and even got a fake ID to play in Las Vegas poker tournaments by the name Ashley. The most talked-about topic about Chantel seems to be her breast implants but it does not prevent her from winning the various tournaments. Among her achievements: 17th WPT Season 6, Mandalay Bay Poker Championship, 23rd 2006 WSOP, Event 18, Pot-Limit Hold’em, 56th 2006 WSOP, Event 15, Ladies Event No-Limit Hold’em.
8. Veronika Larsen
Age: 27
Relationship status: Unmarried
In 2006 a pretty Scandinavian blonde gave up her job for a professional poker career. At the same year she was crowned a “Poker Queen” by Swedish gaming operator Betsson and was sponsored on the European poker tournament circuit for a year. Today she is a full-time player and author who plays mostly cash games and the European Poker Tour. The 24 year-old Norwegian has only been playing for 5 years, but at such a young age she’s already made her mark by coming in 7th at the European Ladies Championship. You can consider yourself lucky if you happen to play with her at the same table, until she will take off all your chips. Moreover, Veronica is still not married.
9. Vanessa Rousso
Age: 29
Relationship status: Unmarried
Vanessa Rousso is a professional poker and a member of the PokerStars Pro team. Many online players know her by the nickname "LadyMaverick". Vanessa was born in New York, but has dual citizenship - American and French, and judging by the surname, with roots in Russia. Rousso had finished in the money in numerous live poker events and had earned over $2,900,000 in career earnings. She had placed in the money a cumulative total of thirteen times in the 2005, 2006, 2008, 2009 and 2010 World Series of Poker. In the 2008 tournament, she placed 625th of 6844 entrants in the Main event. However, in 2007, she had earned over $700,000 with a second place finish in the main event of the World Championship of Online Poker. At the age of 29, she ranks among the top five women in poker history in terms of all-time money winnings.
10. Jennifer Leigh
Age: 29
Relationship status: Unmarried
A perfect mixture of nerd/babe, Jennifer Leigh knows everything about poker, computer programming (that’s C# programming and Linux) and looking good on sexy magazines as she has posed for FHM Online and the May 2008 issue of Playboy. Her geekiness is 95% confirmed as she was introduced to poker via the Internet Relay Chat (IRC) by Robert Boyd –that’s professional poker player Dutch Boyd’s brother. Among her main poker achievements: $9,700 No-Limit Hold’em Championship (45th), 2006 37th Annual World Series of Poker, $1,000 No-Limit Hold’em (18th), 2006 PokerStars Caribbean Poker Adventure (WPT), $7,800 No-Limit Hold’em Championship (42nd).
