Martin Nilsson
10.40pm Martin Nilsson Conquers APT Asian Series Goa!
The heads up contest has been a fairly one-sided affair with Martin Nilsson taking control, despite starting at a significant chip deficit to Manan Khetan. In what proved to be the final hand, things had turned around significantly as Nilsson held an almost 3:1 chip lead.
Khetan limped from the button and Nilsson put another 35,000 on top from the big blind. Khetan three-bet for 99,000 more and a call brought the flop of

. When Nilsson checks, Khetan immediately announces he is all-in. Nilsson, however, looks very interested and stands up, asking for the count that came in as 460,000 to call.
He looks back down at his own stack, does some mental calculations and says “call”. Khetan turns over
for just ace-high and Nilsson’s
pair of kings is looking like a winner. When the turn comes a
and the river
, it is indeed that, handing Nilsson the title along with INR 1,942,000 in prize money. Khetan must content himself with the 1,061,000 runner-up prize money and with that we are all done here at Casino Royale.
Congratulations to Martin Nilsson all the winners here at APT Asian Series Goa and it’s goodnight from us at Fundoo Poker.

10.25pm Khetan Bluffs Some More Off
On a limped flop of

Nilsson bets out 25,000 and is quickly raised to 53,000 by Khetan on the button. Nilsson takes no time in making the call and the turn is the
bringing the third club on the board. Nilsson looked like he was about to bet but quickly changed his mind and knuckles the felt. As if on cue, Khetan slides in one pile of the chips worth 113,000 into the pot. This time Nilsson looks a bit worried but nevertheless makes the call.
The river is the
and Nilsson quickly checks. Khetan does the same behind and says ‘ace-high’. Nilsson then turns over his cards
for the winning hand with two pair.
Nilsson now sits with 1,285,000, which is well over Khetan's 680,000.
10.20pm Nilsson Takes Lead
The early stages of the heads up match have gone to Martin Nilsson and he has now overtaken Manan Khetan for the chip lead. Nilsson had come out the better side on a number of preflop raising wars to be almost even when this latest hand came down.
After a limp from Khetan on the button, Nilsson makes it 36,000 more for his opponent. A call comes and they go to a flop

. Nilsson is first to act and checks it before Khetan does the same behind. At the turn
Nilsson again checks and Khetan methodically counts out a 47,000 bet.
Nilsson sticks with him and sees a river
, checking once more. Khetan isn’t finished, however, betting another 77,000. When Nilsson makes the call we see that it’s a good one. Khetan shows
for just ten-high and Nilsson will take it down with just
for ace-high.

9.55pm Heads up Chip Count
At heads up it’s India’s Manan Khetan in front with 1,233,000 to Sweden’s Martin Nilsson on 732,000.
Prabhat Mukherjea
9.48pm Mukherjea Crashes Out in 3rd
We’ve just come back from the dinner break and a car crash hand has seen Prabhat Mukherjea fall in 3rd place to pocket INR 531,000 in prize money. Manan Khetan was his opponent and opened from the button to 42,000. As Martin Nilsson steps out of the way in the small blind, Mukherjea three-bets to 120,000 in the big blind before Khetan four-bets to 160,000 more.
The response from Mukherjea is an all-in that totals 175,000 more for Khetan to call. With so much in the pot already, it seems like an easy decision to make for Khetan but he takes his time. Mukherjea calls the clock on him but TD Lloyd Fontillas refuses, saying it hasn’t been three minutes yet and the big pot justifies Khetan taking his time. When the call finally comes in they flip over their cards and it’s a classic race.
Mukherjea:

Khetan:

The player at risk is Mukherjea as the dealer tables

, sending him out of the tournament. His exit means we are now down to our heads up contest between our final two players.

9.05pm Players are now on a 30 minutes dinner break.
9.05pm Chip Counts
A quick chip count as we go on the 30-minutes dinner break…
Martin Nilsson: 753,000
Manan Khetan: 743,000
Prabhat Mukherjea: 469,000
Sonu Singh
8.45pm Sonu Singhs His Swan Song
Shortly after we lost Sameer Rattonsey, Sonu Singh has bowed out in 4th place to collect INR 413,000 in prize money. He was the short stack on the table with around 180,000 when he shoved preflop holding
but came up against Prabhat Mukherjea who ony just had him covered in chips but dominated in cards with

The flop of

was a doozy, giving Singh the lead with a pair of jacks but Mukherjea had a ton of outs to his kicker, straight draw and flush draw. The turn
blanked out but the river
gave Mukherjea the nut flush and meant we were now down to three-handed.
Sameer Rattonsey
8.35pm Rattonsey Fails to Go One Better than Last Year
“We have an all-in and a call” says TD Lloyd Fontillas as previous APT Asian Series Goa Main Event runner-up Sameer Rattonsey turns over
while Martin Nilsson unhappily shows
, realising his tournament life is on the line as an underdog.
Flop:

Turn:
River:
The flopped ace spells disaster for Rattonsey and another queen is nowhere to be found on the turn and river to save him. Nilsson breathes a huge sigh of relief and gathers the pot of over 500k, crippling Rattonsey to just 9000 in chips.
There are no surprises that Rattonsey is eliminated in the very next hand, forced to move all-in with
on the small blind against Sonu Singh’s
. He was unable to improve his hand on the board and was eliminated in 5th position, taking home INR 345,000.
Manan Khetan
8.25pm Khetan Seizes the Reins
We’ve been going around in circles here at five-handed for a while now but Manan Khetan has been gradually adding to his big stack. He then took a huge chunk from Martin Nilsson in this hand. On the button, Nilsson makes it 40,000 to go but Khetan re-pops to 100,000 from the big blind.
A call sends out the flop

and Khetan slows down with a check, which prompts Nilsson to take a 80,000 stab at the pot. Khetan calls and the dealer tables the
turn. First to act, Khetan surprisingly shoves and puts Nilsson to a decision for his tournament life. However, it’s a fairly quick one as the Swede decides to give it up. Khetan flashes the
from his hand and the pot moves his stack up to around 780,000, by far the most dominant on the table.
8.20pm Level 22: Blinds 6000/12000 Ante 2000
Nikhil Maheshwari
7:50pm Maheshwari Out Next
The short-stacked Nikhil Maheshwari glanced at his cards
and wasted no time in moving all his chips in from UTG. He gets a call from Prabhat Mukherjea on the big blind who turns over
for a coin flip.
As the dealer opened the flop of

, Mukherjea pumps up his fist for a set of fives. The turn
brought some hope to Maheshwari for trip aces but he fails to fill up on the
on the river, bowing out to Mukerhjea’s full house.
Maheshwari makes his exit from the table to collect INR 295,000 for his 6th place finish.
Ravi Goel
7.40pm Goel Busts Himself in 7th
As action is folded around to button man Ravi Goel, he shoves for 101,000 and gets a call from Martin Nilsson from the big blind. Goel awkwardly turns over
for a clear steal attempt of the blinds and antes. Nilsson tables
and the flop

looks very gloomy for Goel. When the dealer sends out the turn
it gives Goel a glimmer of hope to stay alive in the tournament. However, with the
on the river, Goel exits to the rail, leaving a much quieter final table in his wake. He takes home INR 236,000 for his 7th place finish.
7.35pm Level 21: Blinds 5000/10000 Ante 1000
