Zynga in the Lead in PokerScout’s New Play Money Poker List
Continuing the theme of online poker, we hasten to inform you that last week PokerScout, the site used by many to rank the size of all the online poker networks and real money cash game players, has introduced a new list, a ranking of play money poker networks and the player traffic that they represent. It may sound strange, but this data can have a significant impact on the whole industry of online poker.
Fish at the table
PokerScout’s new list shows the dominance of Zynga in the play money poker games showing a 7 day average of more than 120,000 play money players logged in at any one time. In this list, PokerStars comes second with nearly 25,000 play money players and Party Poker is in 3rd spot with a little over 2,250 play money players.
Ongame, iPoker and Microgaming have surprisingly few play money players compared to their respective real money action. This is possibly due to their sign-up policy—all of these networks require players to create accounts before observing games.
The emergence of this information will not only complete the traffic review of the poker industry, but will also help to attract more players to play money tables.
