PokerStars will Save 200 Full Tilt Jobs in Ireland
Another party that will definitely benefit from the deal between Full Tilt Poker and PokerStars, are the numerous employees of FTP, which lost their job after Black Friday. According to Irish Examiner, PokerStars is going to save 200 jobs in Ireland, as PokerStars head of corporate communications Eric Hollreiser confirmed that Full Tilt will continue to operate out of the current site in Cherrywood, Dublin.
"When we do take over Full Tilt we will continue to operate it out of Dublin. In the near to medium term we expect there to be growth in the Dublin office." he said. Hollreiser also confirmed that several new positions will open up in software, marketing, and backroom support, in the near future.
However, there is also a reverse side of a coin. The users of 2+2 forum asked an interesting question – “Is a player who is banned or self-excluded on FTP (collusion, multi-accounting, problem gambling, etc) automatically banned on PokerStars and vice versa?”
Pokerstars’ representative, Lee Jones, was eager to answer that. “Our systems will not allow barred or self-excluded players on one site to play on the other site. We will ensure that we have the technical solutions in place to preserve our game integrity and responsibility in responsible gaming. However, we will deal with exceptional situations on a case-by-case basis.”
It seems that some PokerStars players may get into trouble-zone after Full Tilt's recovery, don’t you think?
