Dhruv - 10 Nov

10/11/2011

Yesterday and today have been busy days for me, on the personal front. Due to this I was not able to put in the hours I would have liked. Played a couple of short sessions of PLO yesterday, and finished with a profit of 10 euros (250 bb).

Glad to be back on the profit side of PLO! Today, was a rollercoaster day! Started the day with PLO, and the session sucked!! Started off by losing 1 buyin to a bad beat. For some reason, this beat played on my mind and my game suffered immensely. I ended up making quite a few wrong calls and was being too passive with a strong hand when facing villains on draws. I had lost the edge and soon, I ended up being down 5 buyins, thats half my BR! I decided I needed a break from PLO and switched to NLHE hoping to recover. In the next 2 sessions of NLHE, I ended up recovering the lost 5 buyins. Ended up finishing the day being no profit no loss.

Good thing about today was I identified quite a few leaks in my PLO game, as well as I am now able to read opponents much better than before. One hand I am quite proud of was when I laid down my Q-high flush on the turn, and saw one villain had the K-high flush on showdown (it was 3-handed on the turn). Villain was actually slowplaying, and one might argue I had "value" to call the small turn bet. But reading the villain was on a higher flush, I laid my hand down. Knowing that I am developing a much better understanding of PLO is a good sign for me and hope the days to come will be good for both my games!

Cheers and good luck at the tables!
