The Philippines will Host the Largest Buy-in Tournament in Asia

Macau for a long time is competing with Vegas for the title of the main poker capital of the world, luring the notable players by Big cash games. But recently, the positions of the Asian Vegas has been hit hard, after it was announced that this year WSOP will host be the most expensive tournament in poker history – a $ 1 million buy-in tourney.

However, the Asian poker giants, without thinking twice, struck back, announcing a new entry to the growing world of super high roller events with its HKD $1,000,000 (USD $129,000) buy-in ‘Manila Millions’ tournament, to be held during APT Philippines at Resorts World Manila on April 20th. Thus, the seven-figure HKD entry price makes this the largest buy-in tournament ever witnessed in Asia.

According to official press release, the high stakes tournament action is going to take place amidst the luxurious surroundings of Resorts World Manila’s Genting Club. A number of top professionals have already confirmed their intentions to play the massive event, including Phil Ivey and Tom “durrrr” Dwan.
