Latest News from Rio

Every day brings us new WSOP champions, so let’s meet our latest heroes! We would like to start with Event #27: $1,500 H.O.R.S.E. that saw 889 participants. However, only three players returned yesterday for the conclusion of this tournament. Stephen Chidwick, Ylon Schwartz, and David Chiu fought it out for the bracelet, and it was Ylon Schwartz who walked away with a gold bracelet and first place prize money of $267,081.

 Elon Schwartz

Schwartz, the former “November Niner” finished fourth in the 2008 WSOP Main Event, earning $3,794,974, but that performance did not bring him poker’s most prized possession – a WSOP bracelet. This time his dream came true. ‘I’m super happy to get this bracelet. I’ve been banging away, knocking at the door a bunch of times. Now I finally broke through. It’s an amazing feeling’ – said happy Ylon.

Andrew Guly

Timothy Adams became the third Canadian to win gold bracelet at 2012 WSOP. This happened in Event #28: $2,500 No-Limit Hold'em Four Handed – a new Holdem format, which was introduced for the first time ever as a gold bracelet event. Adams, a 26-year old poker player from Ontario needed three days to take the lion’s share of a $ 1.7 million prize pool, collecting $392,476 and his first gold bracelet.

We want to remind you that 28 gold bracelets have already found its owners – 33 more at stake. We are almost half way there!
