Another chapter of IPS got over with a lot of action under the aegis of Casino Royale Goa, which was held from Thursday the 12th of January to Sunday the 15th of January 2012 at Casino Royale Goa.

Day 1 - 12th Jan 2012 - 9:00 pm - Thursday Thunder - 5K Double Re-Buy Tournament
Day 2 - 13th Jan 2012 - 9:00 pm - Friday Fusion – 12K Re-Entry with Flight to MAIN EVENT*
Day 3 - 14th Jan 2012 - 9:00 pm - Saturday Showdown - 20K Main Event with Re-Entry
Day 4 - 15th Jan 2012 - 9:00 pm - Super Sunday - 10K Re-Entry Tournament**

IPS Chapter 11 inaugurated the 2012 Indian Tournament Calendar and saw both tournament regulars and quite a few new faces joining the 4-day (or in this case Night) Poker Festival, which was held at Casino Royale (Goa) from 12^th-15^th January 2012.

On all the days IPS started at 9 to 9 :15 pm and the timings were adhered to. Infact on a coupel of late comers could not get to participate as late registrations had closed before they walked in. It prompted them to come on time the following day.

IPS POY 2011 Ashutosh “Ash Burner” Naik was awarded the POY Plate for 2011.

Day 1 - 12th Jan 2012 - 9:00 pm - Thursday Thunder - 5K Double Re-Buy Tournament

Once again this inaugural event of IPS 11 and also that of the season of the poker tourney scene in India for 2012 saw a lot of new faces turning up. We had 31 entries, the rebuys were 33. The Add ons were 26. Total count was 90.
The final table started after around 4 hours and 30 minutes of play. Final table lasted around 2 hours and 30 minutes. Total duration was just over 7 hours. 4 places were paid the the final table looked as below.

Day 2 - 13th Jan 2012 - 9:00 pm - Friday Fusion – 12K Re-Entry with Flight to MAIN EVENT*

There were well over 30 players in action and after the re-entries we had a pool from 47 players.
The final table started after around 4 hours and 30 minutes of play. Final table lasted around 2 hours and 30 minutes. Total duration was just over 7 hours. 5 places were paid and the final table looked as below.

Day 2 - 13 Jan 2012 - Friday Fusion – 12K Re-Entry with Flight to MAIN EVENT*- 47 Participants

Day 3 - 14th Jan 2012 - 9:00 pm - Saturday Showdown - 20K Main Event with Re-Entry

The number of entries was over 30 and including the re-entries it touched 37.  The Final Table had average BB of close to 25 and hence the clock was not rolled back as we promised 22 BB to players.

The FT started after 5 and half hours of play and then the final table lasted close to over 3 hours and to the total duration was almost 9 hours. 4 places were paid and the chip leader for all through the FT messed his game and came in 4^th in a matter of 5 minutes (4 hands). This was the Silent Assassin Mr Bharat Agarwalla who is also the CEO and Director of IPS. He has uniquely had 5 times of 4^th place finish out of the 20 odd appearances at tourney he has made.

Day 3 - 14th Jan 2012 - Saturday Showdown - 20K Main Event with Re-Entry- 37 Participants

1. James Dagostino (Bangalore) - Rs.3,00,000
2. Dhaval "Dirty" Mudgal (New Delhi) - Rs.2,00,000
3. Vikram "Shikari" Verma (Mumbai) - Rs.1,00,000
4. Bharat "Silent Assassin" Agarwalla (Kolkata) - Rs.66,000

 

Day 4 - 15th Jan 2012 - 9:00 pm - Super Sunday - 10K Re-Entry Tournament**

The last day ie Sunday has been witnessing a fall in numbers in all tournaments and this was no different. We had 15 initial entries and 4 late entries. Aggressive game lead to 14 Re-entries and we had 33 on the board at the end.

The initial rounds lasted around 5 hours. The final table lasted around 2 and a half hours. Total duration was just over 7 hours. Vineet “The Venetian” Bailur made it to the 3^rd FT out of 4 events of IPS 11, while Bharat Agarwalla made it to his 2^nd.

Day 4 - 15th Jan 2012 - Super Sunday - 10K Re-Entry Tournament**- 33 Participants

1. Mikhail Emelianov (Russia) - Rs.1,30,000
2. Vineet  "TheVenetian"  Bailur (Mumbai) - Rs.90,000
3. Bharat "Silent Assassin" Agarwalla (Kolkata) - Rs.55,000
4. Marga Jee (Pune) - Rs.22,000

Vineet Bailur is on top of the IPS POU 2012 with 763 points trailed by Vikram Verma at 660 points and Bharat Agarwalla following closely at 594 points. James Dagistino is at 575 points while Rahul Melwani a tourney regular is at 525 points.

IPS 11 witnessed a lot of foreign nations participating in them. We can see that by the names on the Final Tables on each day. The cash tables were ringing with action all through the IPS 11 event with 4 table of 100/200 and 1-2 of 200/500 running most of the time. Players playing the IPS were hitting the cash tables immediately after they failed to move further.

The organisers wish to thank all players and also Casino Royale Card Room and the Tournament Director Craig Wildman and his set of boys for the successful Chapter 9 of IPS. A thanks to Vikram Verma of India Poker Pros for his support to IPS. Phil Sanders and Craig Wildman needs a special mention as because without their support IPS would not be what it is today.

Notes:-
Day 1 & 2 would be only satellites with Multi-tables and conducted like a tournament.
Day 3 would be a new introduction from our side – Double Chance Tournament.
Day 4 & 5 would be regular events like earlier.
