EPT Copenhagen Day 3: Pierre Neuville in the Lead
We will start our daily review with our headliner this week - EPT Copenhagen Main Event, day 3 of which came to an end yesterday. 72 players took their seats in the Casino Copenhagen in the Radisson Blu Scandinavia Hotel, each with high hopes of becoming an EPT champion, but just 24 managed to survive the day, with some notables among them.
The most successful of them was EPT veteran - a representative of Team PokerStars Pro Pierre Neuville. When play came to an end, after just over six 75-minute levels of play, Neuville bagged and tagged 780,500 chips, which is quite a remarkable total seeing as how he ended Day 1a armed with just 15,000!
Large portion of his stack the Belgian earned with the help of the defending champion - Michael Tureniec in the tournament’s biggest hand so far. With the blinds at 2,500/5.000 Neuville raised 12,000 from under the gun and got two callers – Tureniec from the button and Jacob Rasmussen from the small blind. The flop came 3s-Qc-2c and both Neuville and Rasmussen checked before Tureniec fired a bet of 21,500, and Rasmussen called only to see Neuville leap into action and make it 100,000. Tureniec made the call but Rasmussen got out of the way. Kd appeared on the turn, and the Belgian made a quick bet of 100,000, which the Swede immediately re-raised all-in. Neuville called and turned over Kh-Qs, which was ahead of Tureniec’s Ac-Ad. The river turned blank, and PokerStars Pro became a chip leader, managing to retain the top spot in the chip count until the very end of the night.
However, Pierre Neuville is not the only PokerStars Pro, who will appear in the semifinals. At the tables of Casino Copenhagen he will be accompanied by his colleagues - Martin Staszko (432.500) and Mickey Petersen (451.500). Also still in play: American Steve O'Dvayer (423.500) and hungry for revenge Michael Tureniec (294.500).
The plan of action for Day 4 is to play down to the eight-handed final table regardless of how long that should take. We will continue to monitor EPT Copenhagen events. Actually, anyone can do this as well, as PokerStars will present live video broadcast from the semi-finals and the final day with the English comments. Do not miss it out!
