News from the WSOP
Let us begin our review with the World Series of Poker Main Event that is moving towards its logical conclusion with hypersonic speed. Day 6 of the Main Event is already in the books, and after another five-plus levels of play, Marc Ladouceur leads the remaining 27 players with 15.875 million chips. The French Canadian is not an unfamiliar player, as last year he finished 63rd in the Main Event and was one of only six Canadians left at that point. Ladouceur comes from the tight-knit poker community in Montreal that includes Pascal Lafrancois and 2010 World Champion Jonathan Duhamel.

Day 6 occurred to be rather fast and hard for big-name pros, as Vanessa Selbst, Gavin Smith, Jason Somerville and Sam Holden were all eliminated in the early stages of the penultimate day leaving 27 relative unknowns heading into Day 7.
Has there any drama left? Sure, and it is associated with two females - Norwegian Elisabeth Hille and France’s Gaelle Baumann both looking to become the first woman to make the Main Event final table since Barbera Enright in 1995. Hille finished with an impressive 9.7 million chips while Baumann will bring 5.5 million to the table tonight.
New bracelet-winner Greg Merson is looking to cap off an incredible $1.2 million-winning WSOP with a Main Event final table appearance. PokerStars Pro Jan Heitmann also survived the day and is looking to make it back-to-back German players in the Main Event final table.
It is noteworthy that this year's WSOP Main event will be remembered not only for the participants’ record numbers, but also for four bubble-boys. The four players who went bust in the biggest event of the year were dealt A-A, A-A, K-K and Q-Q. The collective 666th place finishers were Steve Rosen, David Kelley, Desmond Portano and Dane Lomas. Those four “victims” were to play for a $10,000 seat in the 2012 WSOP Main Event; however, David Kelley came to the rescue and agreed to take the seat in exchange for a $2,500 payment to each of the other three players. So, David becomes the first official entrant into the 2013 WSOP Main Event.
