While Zynga is preparing for conquering the European market, the first online poker room is preparing to enter the open spaces of the American Internet. South Point Poker is owned by gaming legend Michael Gaughan, and is the exclusive online poker room to the South Point Hotel, Casino & Spa in Las Vegas, Nevada and is set to be the first legal real-money online poker site in the US when it goes live in September.

According to CEO Michael Gaughan, South Point’s gaming system has already been approved by an independent testing laboratory, the Vegas-based company’s application for an online poker license is set to be heard by the Nevada Control Board (GCB) next month, when it will receive a recommendation for approval before heading to the state’s Gaming Commission.

Back in October 2011, SouthPointPoker.com was the first free play site approved for a Nevada regulated casino in the United States and became a 100% legal, 100% free poker site.
