Allright, Coming back to Reality I first started playing poker with friends (who had apparently learnt the game from Facebook zynga Poker), It seemed simple enough, 2 cards 5 cards in the middle, Best cards wins the chips. As we began playing more, The movie nights slowly changed to Poker nights, The Dinner plans became a supplement to Poker Plans, The Matchsticks evolved into Real Poker chips.

The love of the game grew as more games were played. Friday night poker became something which drowned all the boring/dull/hard work of the week, It helped us master the art of sitting on a chair for hours without getting tired (something which I tried to master for ages since school days and failed miserably).

As I began to play more and more, I began to realize how much I did not know about the game. I find it highly amusing when I remember the statement I made around 4 years ago when my friend suggested to read some poker books to win poker games ‘ I don’t think I have anything more to learn in this game’, Quite a Bold statement! It is more funny now remembering how long it took me to figure out my trip Queens was beaten by pocket 22s with a 2 on board, and how much I preferred KJ over A2 on a flip.

I started reading more and more articles on the game and Movies/Videos/games were deleted from my laptop to give room to the new Poker Videos downloaded from youtube. One of my friend’s wife once asked me ‘Are’nt you getting too much into Poker?’, I snapped back ‘To you it’s poker, to me this is my Life!’, (This line was so great, Phil Hellmuth even copied this line fromme in WSOP 2008, youtube ‘hellmuth vs dragomir’).

As live games were not always available whenever you wanted to play poker, I began playing online regularly, My 1st account was on Fulltilt, however when it was shut down I shifted to Pokerstars, I do not have major achievements yet in Online Poker which I can proudly say But I know it’s just a matter of time.

As I play on 6 Tables on my screen today, I really wonder whether I will make it big in the Poker world, maybe …Maybe Not, But I know for sure Poker has taught me Patience and Discipline to a level which I never could have learnt in school or college, It taught me how to manage money in a way no Finance analyst could have taught me better and most importantly, It taught me how to accept defeat gracefully.

  3. On Life Support

After grinding out for over 2 hours, it was the same old story for me. Get it in good and then get drawn out on the river. The one hand which tilted me the most was when i 3-bet a loose agro player on UTG with AJoff only to get a shove. I tanked for a while but knowin...

  4. Sometimes it just ain't your Day!

Another day at Dafa Poker. It started out quite slow for me. I played tight for sometime and then decided to switch gears. I was in for a bad surprise. After playing over 200 hands, all I remembered was re-buying and re-buying with nothing going my way.
